Journal prompts for whatever today was

Pick what today was about and get three short journal prompts you can answer in a few lines. Tap Three more for new ones, or copy them into your notes.

What was today about?

How it works

Each topic has its own set of prompts, written for short answers. You get three at a time in a random order, and Three more keeps going without repeats until you have seen them all. The link in your address bar keeps your topic and your three prompts, so you can come back to the same ones later.

How to use a journal prompt

Pick one prompt, not all three. Set a timer for five minutes and write without stopping to fix anything. A few honest lines are enough. If a prompt does not fit today, skip it; the next one might. Self-reflection works best when it is specific: one moment, one feeling, one thing you would do differently.

Journaling after a solo outing

Right after you have done something alone is a good moment to write. Note what you did, one thing you noticed, and how nervous you felt before and after, from 1 to 10. Kept together over a few outings, those notes show you how your confidence moves in a way memory alone does not. There is a longer guide on how to journal after a solo outing.

Prompts for self-love, gratitude and a calmer mind

The Self-love prompts ask you to look at yourself the way a good friend would. Gratitude prompts keep you close to small, concrete things from your day. The Mindset and A slow day topics work as mindfulness journal prompts: they slow you down enough to notice what you are thinking and feeling, without asking you to fix it.

Paper, phone or app?

Whatever you will actually open. A notebook by the bed, the notes app on your phone, or a journal that keeps your photos next to the words. The format matters less than writing a few lines regularly.

Questions about journal prompts

What should I write about in a journal?

Start with what happened today and one thing you felt about it. Prompts help when the page feels blank; pick the one that makes you want to answer.

How long should a journal entry be?

As long as it needs to be. Three sentences count. Short entries you keep writing are worth more than long ones you stop.

What are good self-reflection questions?

Questions with a concrete answer: What did I avoid this week? When did I feel most like myself? What would I change next time? The Mindset and Confidence topics are full of them.

How often should I journal?

Whenever you have something to say about your day. A couple of times a week is plenty to start noticing patterns, and after each solo outing is a good rhythm too.

Do you store what I write?

No. This page only shows prompts. You write wherever you like, and nothing you write comes back to us.
