Prague rewards a solo visitor with towers and lookouts you can climb at your own pace, small museums that take about an hour, and art-house cinemas that show films with English subtitles in the evening. Climb the "view ladder" from low to high, pick one or two small museums for a rainy afternoon, and end the day in a cinema.
For the general how-to, see things to do alone in a new city, going to the cinema alone and going to a museum alone. Here we stay with Prague details.

Tips for doing Prague alone
- Start with a view. A lookout early in the day gives you the layout of the city, which makes it easier to walk without a map in hand.
- Keep museum visits short. The small museums above take about an hour, so you can see one without it eating the afternoon.
- Plan one evening anchor. A film showing with English subtitles gives the night a shape and needs no company.
- Leave gaps. Between towers and museums, sit down somewhere. Solo trips feel better when you are not rushing between ticket queues.
