What Coach Rizz does well

Coach Rizz has a clear, energetic idea. Its "Risk. Action. Reward." loop rewards you for acting rather than for how well things go, and giving double XP for rejection reframes a "no" as progress. That can be motivating for someone who knows they freeze before approaching people. It is free to download on the App Store, and the official site says it is available on iOS and Android, which makes it the wider option if you use Android. It is marketed mainly to men who want dating confidence and cold approach practice, so if that is exactly your goal, it speaks to you directly.

What Solo Era does differently

Solo Era starts earlier in the chain: being comfortable by yourself in public. You get a weekly mission as a mission ticket, and you can write custom missions. Missions come in seven categories (food, movement, culture, travel, everyday, solitude and people) and five difficulty levels, level 1 being the gentlest.

Examples show the tone. "Order a coffee and drink it in the cafe, alone" (food, level 1). "Take a gym class where you know nobody" (movement, level 3). "Travel to another town for a gig and stay the night, alone" (culture, level 5). The travel category includes level 1 "Get off a tram or local train at a stop you have never used and buy something there", which suits anyone preparing for solo travel.

You rate how nervous you felt before and after each mission. Progress plots those ratings over months, with XP and a weekly streak. The photo journal keeps notes and photos per mission, shared only when you choose. Screens in our materials show example data.

What Solo Era does not do: it has no matching, dating, social network or AI features, and it is iPhone only. It is not therapy or medical care.

Dating confidence and solo confidence

People often assume dating confidence starts with approaching. For some it does. For others, much of the difficulty is being comfortable with themselves in public: sitting in a restaurant, walking into an event, travelling to a new city. That is the skill Solo Era trains. Our guide to building dating confidence covers how the two connect, and the what to say tool is a free way to prepare words. We do not claim that practising alone will lead to dating success. It is simply a different, gentler starting point.

If you like the approach-style idea but want to compare more, see Coach Rizz alternatives and our guide to dating confidence apps.

Can you use both?

Yes. You could use Solo Era's weekly mission to build baseline comfort and add Coach Rizz when you want an approach-focused push. If one feels like too much, start with the gentler one. You decide the pace.

How we compared

We read the App Store listing and official site on 2026-10-21 and used only what they say. We did not test Coach Rizz beyond that and make no claims about its quality, ratings or user numbers. We make Solo Era, so verify anything important on the stores.

A note on seeking help

Both apps are for practice, not treatment. If anxiety is severe or constant, please speak to a doctor or licensed mental health professional.
