Spring Reset Express 2028: A 14-Day Challenge

The Spring Reset Express for 2028 is a 14-day version of our four-week challenge: one small action a day, split into space (days 1-5), routine (days 6-10) and people (days 11-14). It is built for busy weeks, with each action taking about fifteen minutes. If you have more time, the longer spring reset challenge covers four weeks in more depth.

How it works

Pick a start date, ideally a Monday. Write the 14 actions on a card or in a notes app. Tick each day. The aim is a small, visible reset, not a perfect one.

Days 1-5: Space

DayAction
1Open every window for ten minutes and clear one surface
2Empty one drawer; keep, bin or donate
3Clear your bag or desk of anything old
4Clean the spot you notice most each morning
5Unsubscribe from five emails and delete ten photos

The rule is one small zone per day. A cleared surface is better than a half-finished room.

Days 6-10: Routine

DayAction
6Fix a wake-up time you can keep for the next week
7Add a five-minute morning step, such as stretching or water
8Choose an evening wind-down and set a screen cut-off
9Plan three meals for the week
10Go outside in daylight for twenty minutes

The free routine builder can help you put this on a page. For wind-down ideas see evening routine.

Days 11-14: People

DayAction
11Message one person you have not spoken to in a while
12Say yes to or suggest one small plan
13Do one outing alone, such as a coffee or a short walk
14Review the fortnight (see below)

Day 13 is a good place for a small solo outing. Solo Era is an iPhone app (iOS 17 or later) with weekly missions, five difficulty levels and before-and-after nervousness ratings. A level 1 mission such as "Ask a librarian how to borrow something new" or "Get off a tram or local train at a stop you have never used and buy something there" fits a spring day. Free to download; a subscription is required to start missions, and any trial depends on offer and eligibility.

Weekly checklist

Day 14 review

Spend ten minutes answering four questions.

  1. What feels lighter than two weeks ago?
  2. Which routine step will I keep?
  3. Who did I reconnect with?
  4. What is my one next step for April?

Write the answers somewhere you will find them.

If you fall behind

Three things help. First, do not restart; continue from today's day. Second, merge two small days into one. Third, swap any action that does not fit your life. The challenge works if you complete most of it.

After the 14 days

Keep one routine step and one space habit, such as a five-minute tidy. If you want a longer challenge, the 30-day habit challenge is a natural next step, and the solo reset day is a good single-day alternative. For more on reset ideas, see the self-improvement guide.

FAQ

Do I need to start in spring?

No. Any season works; spring just gives natural energy and light.

What if I miss a day?

Carry on with the next day. Missing one is normal.

How is this different from the four-week challenge?

It is shorter, with smaller actions, and drops the longer body-focused week.

Can I do it with someone?

Yes. Doing it with a friend can make it easier to finish.

Is this a substitute for health advice?

No. If you struggle with sleep, mood or energy for a long time, speak to a doctor.
